Find Your Why

Written By Paul Maglietta

Why……

Honestly “Why” is one of the most incredible words in human history and can be used in so many amazing ways. Why can be the driving force behind a child’s limitless imagination and natural curiosity about this crazy world we all share. As adults we use why in more negative ways, like “Why does this happen to me?” or “Why can’t things go my way?”. At the end of our lives why takes on more existential and philosophical meanings, like “Why are we here?”. Asking why has been a cornerstone in philosophy, religion, and human history since humans could speak and will still be asked far into the future. For me personally I find why to be an empowering stepping stone into any decision, or mistake, I make.

I can honestly say starting a podcast was one of the biggest endeavors of my life (more on that in a future article). We had no idea what we were doing and our first episodes were clear examples of such. As we grew, and learned, and built a brand we started speaking to some incredible people who shared their stories with us. We did a recent episode with an author and entrepreneur named Justen Arnold and he spoke to us about finding your why. That concept has stuck with me for the past several days and really made me think about my why’s.

I love to tell stories and I love to hear other people’s stories. I also love spending time with my closest friends talking about the things we are passionate about. Our show started off as a couple of friends talking about superheroes and look where we are now! When people ask why I love podcasting and creating, it is pretty awesome to say that I am simply sharing the passion and energy my friends and I have with the world. I also get to share this all with my wife, affectionately known as Producer Melanie. Some of my favorite memories with my wife are the two of us sharing a bottle of wine and just talking about all of our goals and sharing our why’s with each other.

I had this article in the back of my mind for days, I felt if I didn't share it I was missing out on a chance to really show what our network is about. We are just a couple of Misfits and I highly encourage all of you to find your why and share your passion with the world. I also want to thank Justen for inspiring me to write this all out and make sure you guys check out our episode with him, linked below.
