75 HARD

About 2 weeks ago my wife asked me to do 75 Hard with her, as we just had a baby a few months ago and she can start working out again. I told her I am down to do it, as we have done it in the past and had great results. Today marks the 7th day of doing this program out of the 75 days.

Before we talk about my journey I figured we should start off with what exactly 75 Hard is.

75 Hard is a self-improvement and fitness program created by entrepreneur Andy Frisella. The program is designed to help individuals develop mental toughness, improve their physical fitness, and build discipline over the course of 75 days. Below are the main components of the 75 Hard program:

  1. Two Workouts per Day: You are required to complete two separate workouts each day, one of which must be outdoors. These workouts can be anything you want, from a high energy walk to lifting weights.

  2. Dietary Requirements: You must follow a diet with no cheat meals or alcohol consumption for the entire 75 days. The specific diet plan is left up to each individual, but it should align with their health and fitness goals.

  3. Drink a Gallon of Water: You are required to drink one gallon of water each day.

  4. Read 10 Pages of a Book: You must read at least 10 pages of a non-fiction book every day. The goal is to encourage continuous learning and personal development.

  5. Take a Daily Progress Photo: Each day, you must take a progress photo to document your physical transformation over the course of the program.

Failing to complete any of these daily tasks means starting over from day one, and the 75-day clock does not stop until all tasks are successfully completed.

75 Hard is seen as a way to build mental resilience, develop good habits, and kickstart a healthier lifestyle.

75 Hard is a challenging program, and there are some common misconceptions associated with it. Let’s clarify some of these misconceptions:

  1. It's Just a Physical Fitness Challenge: Physical fitness is a part of 75 Hard, however the program is primarily focused on mental toughness and personal development. Of course you will lose weight during the 75 days, but that shouldn’t be the only reason you do this program. Many people assume it's only about physical workouts and forget the mental aspects, such as daily reading and taking your picture.

  2. Only Intense Workouts Count: The program doesn't specify the intensity or type of workouts you must do. You can choose workouts that suit your fitness level and goals. Like I said before you can do anything from a brisk walk to weight lifting.

  3. It's a Program for Weight Loss: 75 Hard is not a weight loss program. While some people will lose weight, the primary purpose is to build discipline, mental toughness, and healthy habits. Weight loss results can vary widely depending on individual factors.

  4. It's NOT Suitable for Everyone: 75 Hard is a challenging program however, it is suitable for everyone. Obviously people with certain medical conditions that prohibit them for moving any type of their body wouldn’t be able to complete the program. So if you can move you can do all of these tasks.

Now that you know the ins and outs of 75 Hard who is going to join me on this journey?! I will be updating you all every week or so with my progress, my workout plan, and the book I am reading.
